A collaborative divorce attorney. I have been practicing law for over 16 years, primarily in family law. My legal experience includes representing clients in contested family law cases, uncontested cases, the collaborative divorce process, and mediation. I am licensed to practice law in both Texas and Florida. This last year, my family relocated from Florida to Texas. We are now Texans!
I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Legal Studies. During my last year at UCF, I interned with a large firm in downtown Orlando and that is where I found my purpose. Afterwards, I attended law school at Stetson University College of Law and graduated cum laude. After taking a course in family law, I realized that I wanted to help individuals by representing them in family law cases.
I am a child of divorced parents and I witnessed first-hand the affect conflict has on the family and the individuals. I learned nothing good comes from a high-conflict divorce. It wipes out the family finances and leaves the family torn apart and emotionally spent. After experiencing my own health issues six years ago, I decided to focus my career on resolving disputes peacefully for my clients. There is a better way to divorce. It does not have to be a fight or a war. There are other options to the traditional litigation case, i.e., the collaborative divorce process or uncontested divorces or mediation.
I practice different...with a commitment to my clients well-being. My focus is on the family unit and on bettering my client during the process. I draw upon my own personal experiences and my legal experiences when representing my clients. I understand what it feels like to experience change and hurt and fear. Rise above the pain, anger, mistakes and disappointments. There is a better way to divorce!
